Spring
2007 National Meeting A Success
The Spring 2007 National PCCA meeting was held
on April 20 and 21 in Burlington Vermont at the Wyndham Hotel overlooking
Lake Champlain. Sandwiched between the violent Nor'easter and a second
rainy front the sun shown on the PCCA. We had a beautiful, sunny and warm
weekend for our special private tour of the Shelburne Museum and their
pewter collection.
On Friday evening after an introduction to Shelburne
by Jean Burkes, Senior Curator at Shelburne Museum, we had two informative
Collector's Choice presentations by Ken Goldberg and Dick Pencek.
On Saturday morning we enjoyed the Shelburne collection
with our group questions and discussions about the collection led by Melvyn
Wolf and Wayne Hilt. Saturday afternoon was open for touring Burlington
and the area on a beautiful afternoon or for closely following the
Pook and Pook auction of the Shelley pewter and other early Americana collection.
On Saturday evening there were more entertaining
Collector's Choice presentations with Tom and Ellen O'Flaherty, Bill Snow
and Greg Aurand and a Show and Tell led by Robert Werowinski and Melvyn
Wolf.
